Privacy.
We don't keep anything about you. Pokerio has no accounts, no analytics service, no ads, no cookies and no third-party scripts.
While a table is open
The server holds these in memory, and never writes them to disk:
- the name you type, your seat and your chips
- the cards and a short log of the game
- a random key that lets your browser get back to your seat
Chat messages are passed straight to the people at the table and aren't kept at all.
All of it is gone when the table closes: 15 minutes after it opens if no game has started, about 15 minutes after everyone leaves, after an hour with no activity, or whenever the server restarts.
That includes the end-of-game stats. They're worked out at the table, shown to the people there and deleted with it.
Daily totals
We do keep one thing on disk: anonymous counts for each day, so we can see how much Pokerio gets played. They are the number of tables created, games started and finished, hands dealt, seats taken and new deck calls, plus the most people and tables online at once. They contain no names, IP addresses, table links, cards or chat, and nothing that identifies a person or a game.
Feedback
At the end of a game you can choose to send a rating and a comment. We store those with the date only, and nothing that links them to you, your table or your game. We read them to improve Pokerio. Please leave names and contact details out of your comment. Comments are kept until we delete them.
Your IP address
Your IP address is personal data, so here's what happens to it. Our server holds it in memory while you're connected, and for up to about 10 minutes after creating a table, to stop automated abuse. It isn't logged or written anywhere, and it isn't linked to your name or your game.
Cloudflare
Traffic reaches us through Cloudflare, which protects the site and has to handle your IP address and the traffic itself to do that. Cloudflare may keep its own operational records, as described in its privacy policy. It's the one party other than us involved in running the site.
In your browser
Your browser's local storage keeps your last name, your last table choices, your sound setting and your key for each table, so you don't lose your seat if you refresh. They stay on your device and aren't used to track you. You can clear them in your browser settings at any time.
If you email us
If you email feedback@pokerio.uk, we receive your email address and your message, passed on through Cloudflare's email service. We use them only to read your feedback and reply, and we keep them only as long as we need to.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask what we hold about you and ask us to delete it. In practice we'd have nothing to find once your table has closed, unless you've emailed us. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
